Welcome to Hogwarts Remix! This thread is to help you understand how to get started here at our forum.
First of all, this is a Hogwarts roleplaying forum, where you have a character and type what they say, think, and do. But before you can roleplay, you have to do a few things.
1. Read all the threads in the Information board. Trust me, it'll help!
2. Go to the Character Enrollment board. If you're character is going to be a student, go to the Student Registration thread. If you would like a Professor, go to the Professor Applications thread. Each of those threads will have a form for you to copy and paste into a new thread, entitled by your character's name. Once an admin has read the form, it will be moved into one of the Accepted sub-boards.
A lot of people get the Sorting confused. After you post your form in a new thread in the Character Enrollment board, the sub-board it is moved to will indicate your House, plus an admin will most likely post what House you are in for reassurement.
3. You may now begin roleplaying! Go to a board or ask someone to roleplay with you, then start typing in the view of your character!
If you have any questions, don't understand, or need help with something, feel free to PM an admin, or just post in the Help Sub-Board in the Information Board and somebody will be there to help as soon as possible.
Hogwarts Remix Forum Description:
Hogwarts Remix is a forum where you roleplay a character at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as a student or professor. Have your students signup for their choices out of many interesting classes, and earn points for your House. Your characters are free to explore anywhere in Hogwarts, but don't get caught in forbidden areas if you're lurking around. There is more than just simple school roleplaying at Hogwarts Remix. Way, way more. There are lots of parties, balls, and dances that take place, and also activities and polls your character can take place in also. If there is nobody to roleplay with or nothing to do, head to the Leaky Cauldron board to play some games on the forum. Check out the Three Broomsticks board to talk about anything you want. If you're confused with anything or don't understand something in the Information, all you have to do is post in the Help board or PM an Administrator and assistance will be ready right away. You also don't have to have a plain human as your character. You can choose to make your character an Animagi (A human that can shapeshift into an animal), or even a Werewolf, or Vampire. But of course, you may also choose to be a normal human as well. And, you're pretty much guaranteed to be in your desired House! That's something every wizard wants, right? Results may vary if there isn't enough wizards in one house, and too much in another. This forum's Administration is shared by two people, Emily and Dana. You are free to contact them whenever needed or desired. The birthday of the site was on March 2, 2006, and we hope it keeps growing. There is lots of things to do on the forum, and lots to read, also. There is a place to type your character's biography for others to read, and you may also read others as well. Find your character's perfect match in the Relationships board, and adopt a pet for your character in the Adopt-A-Pet board. Once you adopt a pet, you maybe roleplay with it as well, too. At Hogwarts Remix, major decisions are made by the wizards. A poll is put up to see what the wizards want, not just what staff decides. The wizards have most say, for example, there is a place to suggest things for our forum, and also suggest celebrations and parties that may be fun for everyone.
