First let me begin by saying Welcome to your first Advance Defense Against the Dark Arts class. In this class we will be examing the history, creatures, artifacts, and yes even spells used among dark wizards.
Since this is only the first class we will begin off slow but watch out because this is bound to be one of the toughest classes you will ever take. I will be posting pop quizes and even exams. You will be expected to complete all assignments. Let's begin then! Please take out your Quills and Parchments.
Today we are going to discuss what many believe to be the beginning of the Dark Arts. In 1569, a young wizard name Aldorf Manderhime began his term at Phardom, the prestigious school of witchcraft and wizardry. Many of the professor there recognized just how gifted Aldorf really was. Some tried to encourage his talent by spending extra time honing his skills, while others rode him very hard as a means of challenging him. What no one seemed to realize till later was that Aldorf didn't like playing by the rules. All though he was usually compliant in classes, except for the occasional rule breaking that all students seem to do, behind the scene's he was spending a majority of his time in the library researching everything he could on spell development. During his third year a few of the teachers became quite concerned when they noticed that Aldorf seemed not to develop a single friend and spent all his time alone. Around the same time they also discovered that someone was able to get past anti-cheating spells. Everyone was baffled at how this could happen and how it was being done. Although they never found out who was responsible, many felt Aldorf was behind it. As the years progressed Aldorf seemed even more reclusive and more defiant toward school rules and teachers. Other students were contently taunting and teasing him.
By 1973, Aldorf had managed to create a new creature by manipulating cell structures within a Bandor. A bandor is a creature the lurks in closets, desk drawers and the lot. Up till this time they were quite harmless. How he managed to this no one is quite sure, not even today. These types of Bandors later became known as Boogies. The earliest Boogies were capable of tranforming themselves into what ever the person feared the most. Aldorf was very please with his accomplishments and sent for his new creatures to torment his tormentors. Later Boogies seem to evolve into something that was dangerous. Boogideers had developed a power that would cause the person to have reoccuring nightmares that would eventually drive the person insane. However, Boogideers seem to be able to detect whether a person had dark traits or not and would not attack those who were later known as dark wizards.
In 1623, Krevo Xanderphlan discovered a way in which to control Boogideers . He was now able to control when and who the boogideers would attack. By 1633, Madam Lucindia Goeff developed a counter curse which would cause the Boogideers to explode.
We will now examine the three types of counter curses used again each one.
One however does need to becareful because you will not know which one your dealing with unless you have the ability to see through solid objects. There are other ways in which to determine the type but this should only be done by a master wizard.
If one should encounter a Bandor you would need to use a simple vanquishing spell.
You need to have your wands ready because their really quick. Make sure your wand is pointing directly at the place where the Bandor is. Immediately upon opening the item it's hiding inside. Say Vanque.
Boogies on the other hand are a little more difficult. Since Boogies take on what you fear, you will have to muster up enough courage to look past your fear and picture something happy. Once you are able to picture something happy you would then say Vanque Bordio.
I would like all students to attend a special session on Thursday we're we will begin practicing the two spells above.
Boogideers should never be dealt with unless you are a very skilled wizard in the dark arts. The amount of concentration, focus and aim you will need to have in order to perform this spell are very difficult. Many experienced wizards has surrcome to Boogideers. Since this is so dangerous we will not be going too indepth about the correct procedure. However I do want you to be aware of the spell name. To vanquish a Boogideer you would need to the perform Vanque Nox Bordio, which means vanquish the light within.
