Reading is something that helps to nourish the brain. Of course, this would be obvious since things that people read are filled with knowledge of a particular topic whether it is Muggle or Magical. No matter what it was, Stéci was willing to read about whatever it was she was planning to read about. The best place to do something such as this was to go to the library and looked through the hundreds of thousands of books there on the shelves.
The rain was pouring outside, so there was no point in trying to go out. Anyone would have been soaked within seconds. Her office seemed to stuffy, a study hall with students was no fun, and most other places were simply boring. So, the library was the only other option left for Stéci, really.
Today she wore a Spanish-styled skirt. It was orange, not too bright, but it was more of a relaxed orange. She wore a matching shirt with it as well. Her shoes were flips flops, the same shade of orange as the rest of her outfit. She had in large silver hooped earrings and smaller diamonds in her upper ear. Her hair was pulled back into a loose braid that trailed down her back, reaching her waist. In some places, her dark highlights could be seen mixed into the blonde braid.
Walking into the library and over to a random section of books, Stéci smiled, her gentle cheeks lifting and showing her dimples, her lips spreading apart somewhat as she smiled. She found herself to be in the section of books about Magical Creatures, one of the favorite things. She scanned a few of the shelves and then pulled a random book from the shelve, not bothering to read the title at that present moment. She had read most of the books in the library when she was attending Hogwarts in previous years. She was sure that she had read the book that she had grabbed.
She then walked over to a vacant table, which was not hard to find since there were few people there. After finding the table of her choice, she sat down and gently placed the book on the table in front of her. She looked at the cover. It had various animals on the front of it, many of them she had seen on trips she had been on in the summer months to Colombia. The cover was one that she did not remember, and she suspected that it was new. When she checked the copyright date, it was newly printed.
She noticed one in particular to be the Magical Scarlet Ibis. She then looked at the credits. The book was, indeed, a guide to magical creatures in the tropical areas as well as those in Spanish-speaking countries. This was surely going to be intresting to her. She had studied this animal in Colombia while she stayed at her beach house, but she was ready to see if there was something that she had missed while she was there. She then opened the book up to the page about the Magical Scarlet Ibis.
She read through the various things and found some interesting facts out. She was amazed at how they had gotten their amazing, vibrant red color as well as their living habitats and such, but she already knew how the obtained it. After several moments of reading, Stéci looked around the library, wondering if anyone was going to get up and get another book. And deep down, she was hoping that someone, anyone, would join her at the table.
She was a new professor at Hogwarts, not new entirely, just a new professor. She was the Charms Mistress, and she was there to teach the students that attended her class. Since there were not really any other professors, she had no adults to talk to. But she was sure that she would get along with the students better anyway, since they were probably closer to her age than the professors would be. But even still, she had not met any of the students either. She was a loner, for the moment.
She had a feeling deep down that once a student saw her, they would walk up to her casually and cooly and ask her how she was, her name, and house. She would, of course, laugh. She looked like a teenager, though she was twenty-three, which made people think that she was a student. She hated that sometimes, but then again, she liked it. Her opinion on it was biased in both ways.
Stéci turned her attention back to the book that she was reading. She looked at the Scarlet Ibis, then turned the page. The next thing was something about Veelas. Stéci was not really interested in Veelas at all, even though they were said to be beautiful creatures, but they were secluded into the northern mountains because of their large desire for love and passion, and their charm was almost unbearable. She then shook her head.
Atleast they are up there in the mountains. Especially the females. Men cannot control themselves now. I can only imagine what it would be like with a Veela, a pure Veela. She thought to herself and then smiled widely, her lips still pressed together.[/color]
