Rules

Last updated: July 12, 2006
1. There shall be absolutely NO harassing, spamming, God-moding, power-playing, or over the edge cursing.
This includes harmful disrespect to other wizards, typing in OOC in a roleplaying board too much, typing something completely off-topic in a specific board, and trying to make your character perfect, “the best” or all-powerful.
2. Keep OOC arguments in private, meaning PM’s, emails, instant messengers, etc.
We don’t need to have fights displayed for everyone to see.
3. For the sake of our forum at its current state, there shall be NO advertising for other forums here.
Not in signatures, not in PM’s, not in posts. There is a place in your profile for you to put your website, and that is where it is meant to be displayed. Nowhere else. If you are wishing to Affiliate, see the Affiliate board.
4. You must have a minimum of 1 character, and a maximum of four, and only one pet per character.
It is possible that your account will be deleted if you haven’t created a character after a long period of you being registered here.
5. You may roleplay in “forbidden” places at Hogwarts,
but if a Professor or somebody else catches you, don’t think that you won’t be punished or cause a decrease in House points!
Roleplaying Format
1. Put your character’s thoughts in italic.
2. Put spells in italic.
3. Put speech in "bold and quotes."
4. Put actions in normal text.
5. Give depth to your posts.
Take your time to type something interesting. You should have more than just a few choppy words. In each post, there should be about three sentences, or more. Roleplaying will get very boring if you only type a few words every time you post.
6. Your character must leave the place they are at before going on to another place.
If you're roleplaying in the Forbidden Forest, for example, you must make your character exit that place before moving on to another location.
<< When Posting Threads >>
1. When posting a thread, be sure it's a thread that will be roleplayed in.
No use posting something that will just sit there with no activity.
2. Open roleplays-
When you put the tag (open) next to your thread title, it signifies that that thread is open for anyone to join in the roleplay there.
3. Closed roleplays-
When you put the tag (closed) next to your thread title, it signifies that that thread is a private roleplay, and you must ask permission from the starter of the thread to join in the roleplay.
<< Out-Of-Character (OOC) >>
1. Ways to signify out-of-character typing:
> OOC: text here
> (OOC: text here)
> ((OOC: text here))
> ((text here))
2. OOC talk in roleplaying boards should be scarcely done.
Go to an OOC board, the CBox, or somewhere else to talk about whatever need be. The roleplaying boards are for roleplaying, and the OOC boards are for out-of-character chatting.
3. If you type something out-of-character in a roleplaying board, the post should not only be OOC.
Follow it up by a roleplaying portion of your post, or add some sort of roleplaying to the post with your OOC message in it.
Our Warning System
1. First Warning- A PM explaining your mistake, asking you not to do so anymore.
2. Second Warning- Another PM reminding about the previous time.
3. Third Warning- Final warning, you’d better re-read the rules!
4. One-week banning.
5. Another banning, depending on what rule(s) you’ve broken or disobeyed
(Note: Your Warning Bar will increase depending on what rule you have broken also)
