I have seen some terrible movies in my day, but the Harry movies are at the top of my list. One of my problems with it is - casting. Tell me, when you saw the third movie, Prisinor of Azkaban, how surprised and disgusted were you when you saw Remus' mustache? When did Miss Rowling say that Remus had a mustache? Never. Feel free to rant more about horrible casting in the Harry Potter movies. Movie Remus: Book Remus:

Well, I think they're all pretty good, except I expected Snape to look WAY different. In the picture of Snape at the beginning of a chapter, he had a mustache and beard. Plus, the change in Dumbledore's character was WAY different when the original died.

Yeah, the original Albus was great ... But tI think they did well with Severus, Alan Rickman was already one of my favorite actors - so that may have something to do with it.

Yeah well I pictured harry to look different it said harry had jet black hair and it was messyish but daniel radcliffe doens't look like that and he has brown hair. Also didn't the book says cedric diggory have blonde hair, when in the movie he has brown.

I think they did alright with the Weasleys, except they're all supposed to have "flaming red hair" and Ron is supposed to be tall and gangly, as said in the book.

Ugh, they did horrible with Daniel Radcliffe. His hair is perfect in the first movie when it's supposed to be un-tameable. And I hate how his scar changes positions movie to movie, scene to scene. Ugh.

Hmmm... never noticed that. Well of course it will move, it's probably just makeup or something... I will check for that next time I watch one of the movies.
I read books one, two, and most of three, but I had already seen the movies, so it's not that much of a shock to me. For example, as I was reading the second book, a chapter where they were in Potions class, I pictured the scene with the actors from the movies, so I pictured Snape from the movies. So I'm not really the one to compare. But, the picture at the beginning of the chapter showed his with a pointed chin and beard, attached to a mustache and not such long thick hair.

Actually, I think they did alright with Lupin.
I don't care about his appearance, really.
One: They did fine with the scars, even though they weren't deep enough, but again those scars were supposed to be healing over time.
Two: The mustache actually gives off that feeling of werewolf. Lupin's got hair! Lupin's got hair! He's a werewolf, so I think the mustache did fine.
Three: I love the actor himself. I've seen him in Black Beauty and Timeline and just about any other movie he's been in.
Eh.
I personally don't care about the casting. Everyone has their own images and thoughts and opinions. So do the directors and casting agents and stuff. They're just looking for actors.
And movie-makers make mistakes. It's sort of hard having Harry keep a scar in the same position. They try to make it work right. Each scene takes about a few days to master.
