Psh. Warning: I tend to overdo things.
Name:
Hermione Jane Granger.
Gender:
Female / Witch.
Age:
I need to find the appropriate age for Hermione on this site.
Birthdate:
September 19th.
Bloodline:
Muggleborn.
Desired House:
Seeing as Hermione is a canon character, I say Gryffindor is the most desireable house on her part.
Personality:
Hermione Granger is one of Harry's closest friends, and a valuable wizard of Gryffindor house. Top of almost every class, Hermione has few contemporary equals in terms of sheer magical knowledge. Since both of her parents are muggles, dentists in fact, her exceptional skill at spellcraft is interesting. It is probably due in most part to her extremely studious nature and natural academic brilliance. In any case, were it not for Hermione's ability to effectively recall exactly the right charm at the right time, and solve puzzles like the nature of the Basilisk, Harry would likely have been a goner long ago. Hermione is not only brilliant, she is very kind at heart, and also willing to help others. During Potion's class she can often be found helping out Neville Longbottom, who seems to have a large problem in concocting potions. In Prisoner of Azkaban, while she is apart from her friends (first when she is suspicious about Harry's Christmas gift, a Firebolt broom, and reports it to Professor McGonagall, who confiscates it; again when Ron accuses her cat, Crookshanks, of killing his rat Scabbers), she works tirelessly to prepare a defense for Buckbeak, Hagrid's falsely accused Hippogriff, who has been sentenced to death. She also purchases Crookshanks (a cat that no one else seems to want because of it's squashed face) for herself as a birthday present.
Childhood:
Following her arrival at the school, it quickly became clear that she was the cleverest girl in her year. Not only did she know the answer to every question asked by every teacher, she had memorised the contents of every book on the reading list before the start of term, and wasn’t afraid to tell everyone else about it. She therefore started off her school career as an intensely irritating know-all, even going as far as standing up in lessons to indicate what answers she knew when putting her hand up didn’t seem to be enough. Professor Snape was not amused.
Hermione was born in 1979, the only child of a perfectly normal Muggle family. It is safe to assume that she attended an ordinary Primary school with the rest of the Muggle population until she received a letter inviting her to attend Hogwarts. A number of things can be inferred from this.
Firstly, it is clear that today’s Muggles don’t necessarily harbour anti-witchcraft feelings (at least not all of today’s Muggles anyway). Despite the fact that modern-day wizards still feel the need to distance themselves from the Muggle population and keep themselves secret, it seems that many Muggles are still open-minded enough to accept ideas of wizardry.
Secondly, it may appear at first glance that the Hogwarts authorities are none too careful about protecting the secrecy of their operation and of wizardry in general. After all, Hermione speaks or her great surprise (and delight) when the letter from Hogwarts arrived, and so for her at least it came totally out of the blue. Such a letter only has to fall into the hands of someone less open-minded for the whole wizarding world to be exposed in an instant. Bearing this in mind, it is likely that representatives from Hogwarts had made tentative contact with the Granger family when Hermione’s potential magical ability first became apparent, even though this was kept from Hermione herself.
This is lent credence by the fact that Mr and Mrs Granger were quite happy to send their young daughter off to a boarding school in the wilds of Scotland without any concern, which they would never have done if the invitation to attend had been as much of a surprise for them as it had been for Hermione. Presumably then, they made preparations for her next school to be Hogwarts whilst still keeping it as a surprise for Hermione.
It seems that she knew and cared about her reputation, and wished that she had some friends, but at the same time wasn’t able to curb her natural instinct to be best all the time. When she overheard Ron Weasley insulting her after she’d been particularly smug during a Charms class, she was very upset and spent the rest of the day in the toilets crying. This was particularly unfortunate for her, as this was Halloween 1991, the day that Professor Quirrell decided to let a troll into the school.
Harry and Ron, in an attempt to rescue her, instead accidentally ended up locking the troll in the toilets with her. They had no choice but to then go in and take the monster on, and through a special mix of luck and stupidity they actually knocked it out cold. Hermione lied to Professor McGonagall to cover their tracks, and in doing so finally gained her first friends.
This turn of events caused her to calm down a little bit, although she was still essentially the same old Hermione. Still keen to prove how much she knew, she at least curbed her instincts for telling off anybody who broke a school rule before even the teachers had a chance, and also turned her talents to helping her less able colleagues.
Physical Appearance:
Hermione isn't quite the decent looking person around Hogwarts, with bushy brown hair, that can only be controlled with vast amounts of Sleekeazy’s Hair Potion. Hermione still has the same old buck teeth that she occasionally hates to have, but has to live with it. Her parents don't believe in magic and dental hygiene should mix, so she will believe in that, too. She stands at just a few inches below Ron, but not so short in Harry's terms. Her chocolate optics (her eyes) usually shows signs of knowing something beneath them, or curiousity with learning a new, fascinating subject. However, during her fourth year, Draco Malfoy had accidently aimed a Densageo spell, which rapidly grows a persons front teeth. This was fixed, later in her fourth year, as she visits Madam Pomfrey, and reduces the size of her teeth. From then, they were slightly a little shorter than her average buck teeth.

Pet:
It was once during her third year that Hermione decided to get herself an owl. Though her choice for an owl changed when a tabby, orange cat (half cat/half kneezle) apparently decided to chase after Ron's rat, Scabbers. Instead of wanting an owl, Hermione heard of the story of Crookshanks not being wanted by the others. Feeling sad for the cat, she decided that she'd use her birthday money to buy the cat. Eventually Crookshanks had been quite useful. He detected the villian in Scabbers, but in an unwanted way. Since then, Hermione felt appreciative towards Crookshanks. Hermione’s choice of pet seems to reflect her personality. Crookshanks too is clever, logical, and has a dash of Gryffindor courage, as he showed when defending Sirius Black in the Shrieking Shack.

Best Quality:
Her cleverness in solving logic problems helps Harry out when it comes to facing Voldemort. She had helped with the Potion part of the Sorcerer's Stone question. In year two, she helped out Harry and Ron with the Basilisk problem, however she had been petrified to continue on any further. In the third year, Hermione had tried her best into help saving Sirius from the Dementor's Kiss. During her fourth year, Hermione had quite the task in getting Harry ready for the Triwizard Tournament. When it came to the time, she spent much more time in the library looking up defensive spells and excellent spellwork that could possibly be used for his tasks. She's managed to look up a compass-like spell, 'Point Me' that Harry manages to use in the third task, the Maze.
Worst Quality:
Take a look at Habits below to find out.
Habits:
Hermione has the habit of making sure that Harry and Ron are kept in track when it comes to homework assignments. When it comes to copying, she does not permit it. However, she does give occasional side-glances to make sure that they had completed their assignment correctly. This is more of the 'mother-hen' habit. When it comes to exams, Hermione would be curious to know what her friends have gotten, and to see if she had exceeded well in her own exam. Hermione also has the tendency of nagging on about rules, and how to follow them proper. She may be quite clever in the logic terms, but when it comes to situations where it distracts her mind, she probably won't come up with the answer quicky. This can be refered to her first year at Hogwarts, down when she passed the Devil's Snare. Apparently she assumed that Devil Snare avoids the sunlight, (with a bit of Ron's assistance) but immediately she said "There's no wood!" It clearly states there that Hermione didn't realize she was a witch. Sooner or later, it caught onto her, and she's managed to become the top of her class.
Likes:
Hermione has the love to help others. Reading is the basically her main hobby during the majority of her free time in her life. Most importantly, her friends are very special to her. She loves to rewizard the best of her past along with her friends, and hanging with her friends to rewizard their schooling at Hogwarts throughout the years as the go along. Hermione also has a love of answering every question she could possibly can during the middle of a lesson.
Dislikes:
Quarrelling with someone she loves would be the number one of her list od dislikes. She also has a knack of hating those who mainly discriminate the bloodline of someone, or their phyiscal appearance, or just anything in particular of their personality. Her main enemy when she had attended Hogwarts had been, of course, the cunning Slytherin Draco Malfoy. Although, on top of all enemies, the most known to everyone had been Lord Voldemort and his followers.
Wand:
Vine Wood, Dragon Heartstring, 15 inches.
Roleplay Post Example:
The sun hidden beneath the clouds lingered over the Hogwarts castle and grounds, but there weren't very much clouds at all outside. Though, they were in a grey tint showing that at some point a shower or raindrops may approach. Hagrid would have to make sure that the pumpkin patch wouldn't soak up too much of the rainwater, but just enough to water the pumpkins at a decent amount.
Only one student entered inside the courtyards on the stone benches, reading through the pages of an old textbook used back in the 1850's for Hogwarts. This was once previously used for the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, until one other author decided to publish a more complex version of the textbook to be used around the Hogwarts castle. Hermione Jane Granger, who had recently unnoticed the weather beginning to decrease a degree or two in temperature, had been enjoying the fascinating illustrations used to clarify the captions beneath and the text that trailed around the outside of the pictures. Soon enough, shivering from beneath the black cloak she wore, Hermione glanced up at the sky.
It was definately getting chillier as she sat there, but she enjoyed having been inside the courtyard, the fountain currently seem to have almost died out, but the water still flowed. She wondered if she should head back inside, or just stand there, staring at the fountain as her mind trailed into a reverie. Though, there was no point in having to read any further when she tried to return back to her book. Always with a nose in any book, Hermione was oblivious to what was going on around her, and barey acknowledged having seen Draco Malfoy lying on the fountains at all.
Then again, it was hard to determine from the distance and from the fountain having been so huge to block almost a quarter of the scenery in the courtyard, and the only part of Draco Malfoy she could see was his blond hair and crossed feet. Once she had shifted around in her seat to get a better look, only to make sure it really was who she thought it was, her book suddenly came falling to the stone ground. Picking it up instantly, Hermione figured it would be best to continute back to reading; otherwise, who knows? Maybe Draco didn't expect her to be here at all. The library contained Lavender and Parvati, and the Gryffindor common room were all talkative, so she had no other place to read.
