Appearance: She has slightly tanned skin, and dark brown highlighted hair that falls just above her chest. She has very plump lips, and a oval shaped face with a sharp jaw. She's about 5'10", and on her left hipbone she has a tribal looking tattoo. The top part is visible when she doesn't have her school robes on. When she smiles you can see some of her front teeth look sharper and more pointed than a normal humans teeth should be. It's from her constant changing into her animagi form.
Personality: She is courageous, and smart, but she has a bit of short temper. She's very forgiving though, even if the other side isn't willing. She's often getting into trouble because of her unstoppable curiosity. Boy-wise she is very hard to impress, but she really is very outgoing, and is almost always talking. She’s always up for an adventure, and always raises her hand in class even if she’s just guessing. She recieved O's in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration. E's in Charms, Animagi, and Care of Magical Creatures. Lani barely scrapped by at potions, and she was surprised she recieved an A, which someone should expect after studying every single day 4 weeks before the exam. She recieved P's at Arithmancy and Herbology, which she expected.
Childhood: She lived in California for most of her life with her mother, father, and older brother. They all went to a Private Magic School, so when she got enrolled there it wasn’t a surprise. It’s hidden from the rest of the schools, and it’s nearly impossible to find in any book. It teaches more than just magic, it also teaches fencing and martial arts in case you were caught without your wand. It was more of an magic boot camp than anything, and her parent’s jobs proved it. Both of them were Auror's, and her brother is currently going through the Advanced School to become one. That’s exactly what they wanted for Lani too, to follow in the family's foot steps.
Not long before her sixth year her parents went on a mission to track down a Death Eater that had been killing people on the west side of The United States of America. They never came back, they never reported in, they were never seen. They were presumed dead. Lani never cried the day she found out or any other day. She just went on living like nothing bad happened. Every time the subject of their death comes up she ignores it, quickly switching to something else, anything else. She didn’t even go to their wake. She doesn’t want to talk about it.
After their death she went to live with her aunt that lives in England, somewhat near Hogwarts. She was soon enrolled as a last minute student. Not a single record of her past came up, except what her mother and father did and how they died. Even past school records weren’t found, not even a rumor about them.
Other: Lani owns a black cat with luminous green eyes. It’s name is Ash, and she’s quite the hunter. She wanders around the castle at will, and almost seems as if she talks to Lani about what she’s seen and heard.
